Terms & Conditions

Please be sure that you have read these Terms & Conditions before making your booking or purchase. Booking online means you agree to the following:


  1. General Information
  • Availability:All bookings are subject to availability.
  • E-ticket & Booking Confirmation:We require full payment to confirm your booking or e-ticket.
  • Payment Options:
    • All prices include HST charged at the current rate unless stated otherwise.
    • We accept most major debit and credit cards, including Amex.
    • Please see clause sections 4 and 5 for further payment information.
  • Disability Access: We are committed to overcoming the constraints of our historic riverside locations to ensure that the widest range of people can access our punt stations and enjoy the river. Please get in touch for more information and to discuss your specific requirements with us.
  • Product & Service Withdrawal: We reserve the right to withdraw products or services at any time without prior notice. Should we do so, holders with bookings yet to take place or those with unredeemed bookings will be offered the choice of either taking an alternative product of the same or greater value, or of receiving a refund.
  • Refunds: All refunds are at the discretion of Elora Raft Rides Management.
  • Liability Waivers: Liability Waivers must be signed by all adult participants prior to any activities. You can download and sign our waiver to bring to your booking or pick up a printed copy for walk-ups.
  1. Bookings Information
  • Booking Methods:We accept bookings in person, online, by telephone, email and post.
  • Booking Notice: There is a 36 hour cut-off for online bookings to allow some flexibility for walk-ups at the Boardwalk. Please call us should you wish to make a booking at shorter notice and we will do our best to assist you.
  • Altering Bookings: Any alterations must be made by phone at least 48 hours before the bookings. Please call us should you wish to make a change and we will do our best to assist you.
  • Raft Ride Cancellations: Any cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to ensure a refund of any monies paid, minus a $50 administration fee for River Bug Rides and/or $15 for punt rides per participant. We are unable to offer refunds after this time, except in cases of bad weather or dangerous conditions (please see clause 2.6 & 2.7).
  • Food Cancellations: Any cancellations of food and drink must be made at least 48 hours in advance to ensure a refund of any monies paid. We are unable to offer refunds after this time, even in cases of bad weather or dangerous conditions.
  • Bad Weather: Please contact us if you wish to cancel or reschedule your booking because of bad weather. Our decision as to what constitutes bad weather is at our discretion and is final. If we are in agreement with you, we can either reschedule your booking or refund any monies paid minus a $50 administrative fee for River Bug Rides and/or $15 for punt rides per participant. Please note that we are unable to refund food and drink orders within 48 hours of a booking.
  • Dangerous Conditions:If dangerous conditions force us to cancel your booking we will refund any monies paid. Our decision is final as to what constitutes dangerous conditions. Examples may include excessively low or high temperatures, flooding or high winds. We are not able to refund food and drink orders within 48 hours of a booking.
  • Late Arrival: We can only guarantee punts for 15 minutes beyond the agreed time. Late arrival may lead to a further delay or a reduced duration for your booking. If you are going to be delayed, please notify us as soon as possible, so that we can try to reschedule your booking.
  • Non-Appearance:Any group failing to show up without giving prior notice will be deemed to have had their booking and will not be eligible for a refund. Credit Account Customers will be invoiced for the full value of the booking.
  1. Online Payments
  • Online Payment Options:On the payment page you can choose to pay in CDN ($) or the equivalent in USD ($). The USD exchange rate is set by WorldPay and updated everyday at midnight.
  • Online Refunds:Any agreed refunds, subject to our Terms & Conditions, occur in the purchase currency and at the same exchange rate of the original purchase.
  1. Non-Website Payment Information
  • Payment Information:
  • We only accept payment in CND ($) for non-website bookings.
  • Cheques should be made out to "Elora Raft Rides".
  • Please contact us to arrange payment by bank transfer.
  • Invoicing is available to corporate Credit Account Customers only.
  • Please contact us for further details.
  1. Conditions of Hire
  • Notice of Risk:All craft and equipment are let to hirers at their own risk. Elora Raft Rides (hereinafter "The Company") will not be responsible in any way for any accident, injury, damage or loss, whether direct or indirect, arising from the hire or use thereof (save for the Company's liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Company, its employees or agents).
  • Notice of Responsibility:The hirer shall be responsible for any accident, injury, damage or loss and for all damage to the craft and equipment arising from the hire or use thereof or from any breach by the hirer of these conditions and shall indemnify the Company from and against all claims, demands, liabilities, expenses and costs which may be brought against or incurred by the Company as a result of any accident, injury or loss arising from such hire use or breach (other than death or personal injury resulting from the negligence of the Company, its employees or agents).
  • Reasonable Use:The hirer shall use the craft and equipment in a reasonable, proper and careful manner.
  • Hire Deposit:A deposit for each craft hired may be required before hiring commences. Deposit will be refunded on return of the boat in good condition and on presentation of the hire ticket PROVIDED all hiring charges are paid and no claim arises under paragraph 2 of these conditions.
  • Minimum Charge:The minimum charge is one hour's hire for hourly hire craft or the allotted hire period for fixed rate hire craft. Thereafter the hire charge is calculated pro rata to the nearest part of the hour as indicated at the ticket office.
  • Term of Hire:Hire commences at the booked start time of your booking, and continues until the end time of your booking, or until the return of the boat to dock, whichever is longer, whereupon a supplemental charge must be paid.
  • Chaining Craft:For safety reasons craft must not be chained together.
  • Maximum Capacities:No more than 8 passengers may occupy a single punt. Hirers overloading craft will be charged double rate for the entire duration of the hire.
  • Late Returns:Hirers failing to return the craft and equipment by the closing time of the hire station, as displayed at the ticket office, may be charged, at the Company's discretion, treble rate for each hour or part thereof after the said closing time.
  1. Use of Drugs or Alcohol
  • Note that neither drugs nor alcohol are permitted before or during you rafting trip. By making a booking with us, you agree that use of these substances before or during your trip will result in the forfeit of your rafting trip without refund.
  1. Disclaimer
  • Elora Raft Rides craft and equipment are hired subject to the above conditions and are not hired subject to any other condition or warranty, express, implied or statutory and any conditions or warranties other than the above conditions are hereby expressly excluded insofar as permitted by the statute.
  • These Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice and will be posted online on the Elora Raft Rides website.
  • Prior to participating in any Elora Raft Rides activity, whether on land or in a watercraft, you will be required to sign our Waiver which absolves Elora Raft Rides of legal liability in case of accident or injury. A copy of our Waiver can be found at the link below, and we encourage you to print, read and sign it before arrival to our punt hire station to avoid any delay in your departure. Printed hard copies of our waiver will also be available for signature at each of our hire stations, should you need them. No Elora Raft Rides activity shall be offered to any customer without the provision of a signed Waiver.
  • We reserve the right to alter any booking or to correct pricing issues that result from errors or omissions in any booking. Any dispute shall be resolved solely at our discretion.
